Press Release June 7 2012

June 7, 2012: The Board of Directors and leadership of Solvay Bank held a ground breaking ceremony to commemorate the beginning of construction on a major expansion of the Bank's headquarters at 1537 Milton Avenue in Solvay. This planned 17,000 square foot expansion will provide additional office and meeting space for the Bank. The added space will allow for more efficient centralization of critical departments as well as provide a structure for future growth.

"Our workforce has grown by over 10% in the last four years and we now employ 160 people," said Paul P. Mello, President and CEO. "We have added 15 new employees during a period of economic recession that has left many other institutions scaling back their services. We couldn't be more excited to be celebrating our 95th anniversary with a major expansion for our headquarters," said Mello.

Local officials from the Village of Solvay and the Onondaga County Legislature attended the ceremony along with Brian and Sean McKenna from Parsons McKenna Construction Company. The project is expected to be completed in January 2013.
