Security Alert: Be Cautious of Increased Scam Attempts

Banks nationwide are experiencing an increase in fraudulent activity. During bank-wide events or system upgrades, scammers frequently escalate phishing (email) and vishing (calls/voice) attempts to trick customers into revealing sensitive information.
Current Scam Activity: Some Solvay Bank customers have reported receiving phone calls or text messages pretending to be the Bank and requesting private information.
What the Bank will NEVER do:
- We will never call and request your password.
- We will never request Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) one-time codes.
- We will never ask you to click a link in a phone call or unsolicited message.
What to do if you receive a suspicious call/text:
- Do NOT provide any information.
- Do NOT click links or follow instructions from unexpected calls, texts or emails.
- Hang up immediately if you suspect the call is fraudulent.
- Contact directly at 315-484-2201. Do NOT use a phone number provided during the suspicious call.
- Report the call. Provide as many details as you can, including whether the caller attempted to impersonate the bank and if any personal or financial information was shared.
